Begin by measuring the bed of your truck with the tailgate closed. Our sizing guides will help you determine which tent is compatible with your truck. Our website also displays a sizing chart for your convenience.
No. Driving with the tent mounted to your vehicle may cause personal injury and/or damage to your tent and truck.
Yes. The tent will work with a sprayed, mat, or prefabricated liner.
Railings will work as long as they are less than 3” tall. Roll and sports bars must be removed.
No. Truck Tents will not work as long as the camper shell/cap is assembled. Napier SUV Tents are the best option as long as the height from the ground to the highest point of the cap window/door does not exceed 80”.
Yes. One person is able to set up a Napier Truck Tent, however we do recommend having assistance during the first set-up. The first set-up should take approximately 15 minutes and about 10 minutes each time thereafter. Each tent comes with set-up instructions and color-coded poles for easy assembly.
Yes. We recommend placing the tent over the toolbox to minimize the amount of water that could enter between the box and the tent. It is also recommended to cover the corners of the toolbox to protect the tent from ripping on sharp edges. Please note that you will lose the amount of space that the toolbox occupies.
Our truck tents will fit over Roll-Up Tonneau Covers if the rolled-up tonneau cover is less than 6” high
As long as the back rack does not intrude onto the rails of the truck too far, it should not impact the functionality of the tent. Please email email@example.com with a photo or the exact model of your back rack to determine if the rack is compatible.
There is a one-year manufacturer defect warranty. Please consult the Warranty section on the website.
Our tents already have a water-resistant coating on them. However, the coating may wear down over time and you may want to spray a water repellent coating onto the tent and rainfly after a few years of use. For additional protection and product maintenance, you may wish to use a seam sealant on your tent.

Very easy to put together alone. And it was crazy comfortableAugust 23, 2023
I absolutely love this tent. First of all it’s my favorite color (camo). I have used this tent in the wind, rain, and the beach and soon in the heat.it’s waterproof and the straps do a great job in holding down the tent in the wind. This fits in the bed of my Chevy perfectly and it matches perfectly with the AIRBEDZ camo mattress. Super easy to install and love that it uses the whole truck bed.

Bought over a year ago and never setup. First use, easy to setup but Corner to Corner pole broke first use and it leaks alot of water. You can see light through all the littlenpin hole in the material where it leaks water. Woke up soaking wet and all gear soaked. I have never had such a poor quality tent material that leaks this bad. Out of warranty now so oh well.April 8, 2023
I have a 2021 f250 with a standard size bed and this fit perfectly. It is very well designed and was super easy to assemble. Practice once in your driveway and it will be super quick the second time. First time is slow as you figure out the concept of how the colored poles fit. This is super roomy inside and has a high ceiling that you can stand up in while hunched over. Very good cross ventilation with side and rear wiindows. I got the version with the door awning which makes a nice little porch area over your open tailgate and the Ford tailgate steps allow you to sit on the tailgate in the shade to remove your shoes before going inside. Definitely recommend an air mattress or a cot. You don’t need the full size mattress, whic are expensive. A simple backpack type sleeping pad will do and allow you space to place things on the floor without them bouncing around if they are on top of the wall to wall mattresss. Your truck bed will feel very hard!March 16, 2023
Tent was pretty simple to use. Assembly was intuitive. I used it in the Everglades. Mosquitoes were out in force. The tent kept out the biters, except for the ones I let in entering and leaving. The dark color did not transmit light at all. I left the windows unzipped, and fog rolled in which made everything damp (my fault). I’m pretty happy with the purchase so far.
The only downside to this design is, everything has to be packed out of the truck bed. The upside is, bugs aren’t getting in. If you have a crew cab pickup and plan carefully, the bed loading/unloading can be kept to a minimum.May 20, 2021
I purchased this tent over a year ago, but never had a chance to use it until now with a cross country road trip. It is awesome. Easy to set up, even in the dark. I either rolled it up with a cushion for a mattress inside it or left it all set without the poles in the bed of the truck and with the tonneau cover over everything. Cold nights and moderate wind didn’t make a difference at all.October 5, 2020
We’ve had this tent for 2 summers now and it is fantastic! Tall interior is great for getting changed etc. We have a tacoma long bed and put a platform inside the bed so we can have a futon mattress inside. Two pluses are 1) you’re off the bed of the truck so can sit on end of mattress and still be inside the tent and 2) sleeping on a proper mattress. We do all this before we leave then fold everything in and put the tonneau cover on top. Stealth!September 8, 2020
My Backroadz tent arrived yesterday evening before dark.
Fist time setting it up took 20 minutes trying to be careful not to miss anything.
Some difficulty getting poles into place and through a struggle learning curve realized if you lossen all tie downs it expedited the installation.
Once fully in place and tightened down the next struggle was the rain fly.
It fits the front or cab end well yet at the tailgate the angels are off.
Workmen ship around side windows are not as clean as one might expect however it is secure.
Door has only one set of toggles to hold both door and screen a second set would be nice for the screen door otherwise it just hangs waiting to be damaged.
These are minor things that are noticeable .
On the positive side!
Roomy interior and the roof vent a big score for me.
Fits snugly to my 2011 Ram1500 and once completely closed up took the garden hose test without a leak.
The price was fair and worth what I received.
Even some friends are looking to get one now after seeing what I have !
My new Base Camp is ready for this seasons fishing and hunting tripsJuly 26, 2020
This tent was the perfect addition for my camping/fishing expeditions. It fit my 2011 Chev Silverado Crew Cab perfectly. I can set it up by myself in about 15 minutes. I’ve used it in wind and rain and it stood up to both, tremendously. Paired with an air mattress that fits the bed of my truck, I’ve had the best sleeps I’ve ever had in a tent.July 10, 2020
This is a great intro tent to vehicle camping. Its versatile design means it will fit all truck beds. I have a RAM with side boxes and Roll’n’Lock tonneau. With some slight modifications to strap the poles from spreading right out and putting some blocks for the front awning poles it avoided any tight spots and possible splits in the water proof base. It would be good to have additional eyelets half way along the flysheet to be able to take up the slack. Securing to the truck is very easy and gives a lot of security in the wind. The price point is amazing and even better when on special and Canadian Tire!June 14, 2020
