It’s that time of year again…National Plan a Vacation Day! This national holiday reoccurs every year and falls on the last Tuesday in January; go ahead and get creative by planning a vacation that you will never forget!
Why National Plan a Vacation Day? It started as an initiative by the Project Time Off team. Their goal was to prove that vacation travel is not only valuable, but also necessary for strengthening personal relationships, inspiring creative thinking, improving professional performance, and promoting better health. According to their research, an alarming 51% of Americans would skip out on the essential vacation planning step.
With that being said, this is the perfect time to get the mind thinking and start the vacation planning! To help, here is a bit of advice for kick starting that planning step and taking an epic road trip (which you know we are a fan of here at Napier).
Begin by taking a look at your personal calendar; what times do you have off? How much time will you have off from work? Once you know, you can then begin chatting with friends or family that you would like to explore with – or if you prefer, take a solo trip.
Once you’ve arranged a “planning committee”, sit down and organize your calendars. It may take some time to ensure everyone is on the same page, but the benefits of doing so completely outweigh the effort.
The next step is to look at where you want to go. Are there any great events or holidays that you are looking to experience? One can gain great inspiration from simply taking a moment to look at some great photos, or browsing Instagram to see what fellow adventurers are doing. I would even suggest asking your social networks for some advice. I’m sure that they have some great ideas and stories to tell.
Napier also has some great resources that will help you out too! When searching for a destination, we can easily guide you in the direction of some great places to visit.
Once the destination is picked, you’ll have to sit down and work out the minor details. Now might not be the right time, but when you are ready, we are here to help with our packing checklists and recipe ideas!
Personally, I have already narrowed down a few ideas for a couple road trips that I would like to take this coming year! I have officially decided that I am going to set some time aside and bring those plans to life! Stay tuned because I will be sharing them of course.
