Pickup truck cargo box should be measured with the tailgate closed

How do I know what model of tent to order for my truck?
Begin by measuring the bed of your truck with the tailgate closed. The “Fit My Ride” tool on our homepage will help you determine which tent is compatible with your truck. Our website also displays a sizing chart for your convenience.

Is there a Truck Tent for the Honda Ridgeline?
Yes. Honda sells a custom Ridgeline tent for models 2016+. Unfortunately, models produced before 2016 are not compatible. Visit your local Honda dealership for details.

Can I drive with the tent set-up in the bed of the truck?
No. Driving with the tent mounted to your vehicle may cause personal injury and/or damage to your tent and truck.

Can one-person set-up a Napier Truck Tent by themselves? How long will it take?  Yes. One person is able to set up a Napier Truck Tent, however we do recommend having assistance during the first set-up. The first set-up should take approximately 15 minutes and about 10 minutes each time thereafter. Each tent comes with set-up instructions and color-coded poles for easy assembly.

Can you fit a tent over a bed toolbox?
Yes. We recommend placing the tent over the toolbox to minimize the amount of water that could enter between the box and the tent. It is also recommended to cover the corners of the toolbox to protect the tent from ripping on sharp edges. Please note that you will lose the amount of space that the toolbox occupies.

Will the tent fit with a tonneau cover? Our Truck Tents will work with certain types of tonneau covers only; they are not compatible with all. Please see the list below for specifics:

  • Retractable Tonneau Covers: Yes, these will work.
  • Folding Tonneau Covers: Will NOT work; the tonneau cover will need to be removed.
  • Hinged Tonneau Covers: Will NOT work; the tonneau cover will need to be removed.
  • Roll-Up Tonneau Covers:
    • If the rolled-up tonneau cover is less than 6” high, yes you can place the truck tent over the tonneau cover.
    • If the rolled-up tonneau cover is more than 6” high, you will have to either remove the tonneau cover completely or place the truck tent up against the tonneau cover. If the tent is placed up against it, please note that rain could find its way between the truck tent and tonneau cover since there will be a slight gap between the two.

Will the Truck Tent work with a Back Rack (Headache Rack)?

As long as the back rack does not intrude onto the rails of the truck too far, it should not impact the functionality of the tent. Please email with a photo or the exact model of your back rack to determine if the rack is compatible.

Will the tent fit with a bed liner?
Yes. The tent will work with a sprayed, mat, or prefabricated liner.

Will the tent fit with sports bars, roll bars, or bedside rails?
Railings will work as long as they are less than 3” tall. Roll and sports bars must be removed.

Will the Truck Tent work if my truck has a camper shell/cap on it?

No. Truck Tents will not work as long as the camper shell/cap is assembled. Napier SUV Tents are the best option as long as the height from the ground to the highest point of the cap window/door does not exceed 80”.

My pole broke? How do I get a new one?
Please refer to the Warranty section on the website.

Is there a warranty?
There is a one-year manufacturer defect warranty.  Please consult the Warranty section on the website.

How can I make sure that my tent is the most water resistant that it can be?
Our tents already have a water-resistant coating on them. However, the coating may wear down over time and you may want to spray a water repellent coating onto the tent and rainfly after a few years of use.

Do I need to use a seam sealer on my tent?
A seam sealer is not necessary. Our rainflies and truck tent floors have taped seams to guard against water entry. For additional protection and product maintenance, you may wish to use a seam sealant on your tent. Please note that water drops through the needle holes along the seams is common with all tents and is not a manufacturer’s defect.

How do I find a retailer near me?
The “Find a Retailer” tool on our website will help you locate your closest retailer.

I wrote a review a year ago. I wanted to update it now that I have used it more. After one year, it now takes me about 10 minutes to set up by myself. Went camping last weekend and it POURED. I had visions of waking up in a swimming pool in the bed of my truck. The rain fly worked GREAT. There was not a drop of water in the tent. did I tell you that it POURED. I kept the windows open with the rain fly covering them almost to the bottom of the open windows. If you keep the windows zipped up and closed, you will suffocate in the tent. No bugs in the tent. 5 minutes to take down. Dries quickly. No poles have broken. No tears in the tent material. If you want a room with all the amenities, go to the hotel or get a camper. If you want to camp, this is a great tent.

I have a 1992 Dodge D250 truck. The truck tent fit my truck perfectly! It is easy to set up and take down. The tent has so many great features.
One night while camping it was extremely windy and the wind had no effects on the truck tent. It took direct gusts of wind in excess of 50 mph.
I would highly recommend this tent. Quality of the tent is excellent, the price is fantastic and it is a joy to use. I got many compliments on the truck tent at every camp ground I camped at!

I absolutely love this tent! We’ve used it camping up in the North woods of New Hampshire, 3 times now. It has not failed us yet! We bought an inflatable bed that goes over the wheel wells and it fits perfectly inside this tent. I have yet to see anyone else have a truck tent out camping and i love the attention i get on mine! Takes two people to set up this tent and a little practice, but by the 3rd time it will be a breeze! I HIGHLY SUGGEST that you MARK EACH OF THE POLES as to where they go.. as some of the colors are very dark and could be mistaken for another.

This was the best investment I’ve made in my pick up, it fits perfect in every aspect and works really really good with the air bed mattress that I bought for the truck I would recommend this purchase for anyone looking for a truck tent

This tent was not hard to put together (unlike most tents). My favorite part about it is the high ceiling and the awning. My advice would be to get an air mattress for inside the bed for comfort. No complaints with this tent and has all the features you need!

I purchased the tent last month in preparation for the upcoming hunting seasons. I was amazed for the price what a quality product this is and how easy it is to assemble. It fit perfectly in my truck bed and I would highly recommend this for anyone in the market for this type of tent.

  • Mike Roux,

This dome tent is the perfect hunting or fishing set-up. It is easy to pop up and it has a rain cover, which I really needed on this trip. And it even has a porch roof. This is a way overdue addition to may hunting/camping process.

Used the truck tent this past weekend while camping. It was easy to set up and worked out perfectly well. Used an air mattress inside the tent and slept well :).

Plan was to retrofit this into a 4×8 utility trailer with 16″ sides and with a bit of trailer manipulation it seems to be working well as planned.

I joined an RV club to use my sportz tent. I’m alone and feel secure with a group. I love this tent! The ease of setting it up is a large factor. The total space in the truck bed is enclosed by the tent, no creepy crawlers invited. The door plus 3 large screen covered windows make circulation of air great! Plus I can put my small dogs in the back seat of the truck, still have access to them, and I don’t Have to sleep with them. Perfect for a 68 yr. old widow who likes to camp!

Set up takes a little while the FIRST time, with instructions attached to the bag.

  • From AutoAnything

I had to make a last minute overnight trip right after I got the tent, so decided to make use of it. I had to set it up in the dark the first time, but it actually went up fairly easily, and I was alone at the time. A little difficult to find the pockets in the dark, but overall, I was very pleased. The only real issue I had was my Bed rug that extends onto the tailgate. Because of the straps that wrap around the tailgate, I had to pull the Bed rug off the tailgate and fold it into the bed.
