Will the tent fit over a bed toolbox?
YES! Place the tent over the toolbox to minimize rain entry. If you have a metal toolbox, cover any sharp corners as they may tear the tent fabric.

Will the tent fit over a truck with bedside rails?
YES! If the railings are less than 3″ tall. Taller railings will need to be removed.

Will the tent fit a truck with a bed liner?
YES! The tent will fit with any sprayed or prefabricated liner.

Will the tent fit a hinged slant-slide tonneau cover?
No, the tonneau cover would need to be removed. Fabric covers however, can simply be rolled back.

Can I use my truck tent if my vehicle has a cap?
A Napier SUV Tent would be the better option.

How long will it take to setup the tent?
The first setup will take approximately 15 minutes, and about 10 minutes each time thereafter. While it is possible to setup the tent alone, we suggest having a helper for your first time.

Can one person set up the tent?
One person is able to set up a tent; however we do recommend if at all possible that on the first set up to have assistance.

How can I make sure that my tent is the most water resistant it can be?
Sportz tents do have a water resistant coating on them.  The coating may wear down over time therefore you may want to spray a water repellent coating on to the tent and rain fly after a few years of use.  We recommend using McNett Thunder Shield silicon water repellent.

Do I need to use a seam sealer on my Sportz Truck Tent?
Yes, while the Backroadz tents’ rainflies are seam sealed, the tent seams themselves are not seam sealed.  We highly recommend you seam seal the seams before using the tent as water may penetrate the needle holes in the fabric.  Water coming through the needle holes along the seams is common with tents and is not a manufacturer’s defect.

My pole broke? How do I get a new one?
Please refer to the Warranty section on the website.

Is there a warranty?
There is a one-year manufacturer defect warranty.  Please consult the Warranty section on the website.

    Absolutely Recommend This Tent
It’s easy to set up and take down. Instructions are easy to follow. And it feels very spacious and comfortable inside. It’s airtight, totally rainproof and we even love the bag it comes in as it extends to ensure it’ll fit once you’re done. Spent 10 nights on a road trip and can’t wait to use it again!

It might come as no surprise, but the box of your truck is much better at breaking wind than any type of fabric. Having that solid piece of metal between you and the wind cuts down a lot on the breeze, and the durable fabric Napier uses kept me dry despite a rainy evening. With a thin sleeping pad under me, I was surprised how comfortable everything felt.

Awesome unique design! I do warn if you have a bed cover do not put on top of it. Everyone camping had to come check it out.

Turns heads @ parks, people always stop and ask. Even if the ‘Campground is full’ there is no problem for the truck tent squeezing in anywhere.. need to move? just drive the truck slowly.

Only complaint is that you cant easily move it out of the truck to drive somewhere and come back and reinstall; but that’s a small trade off for my uses.

Just used this tent over the weekend and was so glad to have it. It has a few flaws, but overall it is well-designed and functions better than expected.
    What I like:
    – 360-degree coverage. It has a floor to it that covers the inside of the truck bed. Some tents only go to the side of the truck bed and are open on the bottom.
    – Rain fly works perfectly. It rained all weekend and we had no leaks.
    – Awning is a nice touch. Again, with the rain it was nice to be able to get in and out without worrying about water dripping into the tent.
    – Windows can be opened in multiple ways. Instead of just one zipper that goes all the way around, these have zippers down the center, too. It allows for lots of adjustment to control air flow.
    – Small vent windows allow just a little airflow if needed. There are two small (maybe 12″ high) vent windows near the top of the dome for more ventilation. This helped when it started getting a little stuffy inside.
    – Pole sleeves are color-coded to match the color of the poles that go in them. Brilliant! Having set it up twice, now, I don’t think I’ll ever need to refer to the instructions again.
    – Inside height is great! About 6′ and some change.

    What I didn’t like:
    – Like other reviewers have said, the plastic clamps used to adjust the poles for the awning are not built to last. One broke the first time I tried using it. However, we closed the other one very slowly and cautiously and it was ok, but still felt ready to snap. Wish it wasn’t plastic.
    – I wish the awning was removable. In high winds, I can see it being a problem.

I’m happy to report the Napier tent goes up surprisingly quickly and easily. It helps of course they’ve sewn the fabric instruction sheets right to the storage bag, so you can’t lose them. Still, the tent has a grand total of six poles that are color-coded to matching sleeves on the tent, so it’s hard to get wrong.

Decided to set it up at home prior to our first camping trip. Very helpful instructions. Cut our set up time in half at camp site by being familiar with instructions. The Truck Tent is awesome. My wife can’t wait to use it again. Be prepared for lots of comments from other campers.

    Rains

    Convenient In Tight Spots
Bought for a three day weekend not expecting anything great, just shelter from the elements. My wife purchased a queen air mattress 20″ thick that conforms around the wheel well ’16 F150 short box. Two people to set up made it easy. All said and done we had one of the best set up of anyone there. Tent kept shelter from wind n rain only draw back we went a little thick on mattress n level with top of box so contact with pillow n area not covered with rain shield pillow was damp, thinner mattress n we would of been fine. Don’t regret buying, now looking at extension to the tent offered by Napier.

First time we set it up was in the dark and we had no problems. The poles and tent are color coded. It rained a couple times and we didn’t get wet.

Camping with horses is always an adventure. This year’s camp out included a 5 day storm with record breaking pouring rain, strong winds with 50 mph gusts, First time out with my new Sportz truck tent. Amazing!! I stayed warm and dry, no wetness at all in or under the tent. I had “living quarter” trailer but I decided to leave it home and “test” the new tent. I was amazed at how well it held up in the worst moments of the storm. Kudos Napier!!

Fits perfectly on the 2016 Nissan Frontier crew cab with the shorter bed. Tent was put thru its paces in the Grand Canyon, and mountains of Georgia and woods of South Carolina. Like many reviews state, learning the setup is probably the most difficult thing about the tent, so make sure you go thru it a time or two before trying to set this up in the dark at the campsite last minute. Overall this tent performed wonderfully. The covered entry is perfect for keeping you out of the rain before getting into the tent so you can shed wet clothing before climbing in. I recommend a step stool to assist shorter campers in climbing in, but that has to do with the truck more than the tent. Sets up quickly, and breaks down just as fast. Optional rain-fly works very well. With an internal inflatable mattress or a memory foam pad, prepare for a wonderful night’s sleep.

I joined an RV club to use my sportz tent. I’m alone and feel secure with a group. I love this tent! The ease of setting it up is a large factor. The total space in the truck bed is enclosed by the tent, no creepy crawlers invited. The door plus 3 large screen covered windows make circulation of air great! Plus I can put my small dogs in the back seat of the truck, still have access to them, and I don’t Have to sleep with them. Perfect for a 68 yr. old widow who likes to camp!

Well, I could not be more pleased thus far. I set up the tent and inflated my new mattress inside the tent and I’m happy to report that setting up the tent was not hard if you’ve ever used poles in color-coordinated sleeves before. The Tent rocks as a lot of thought for comfort and features are obvious. From the zipper pulls to the number of windows and quality of the tent material. Excellent! The tent fit the 6’2″ bed perfectly!

Was very impressed with the features of this tent. From how the sides of it are draped over the edges of the bed to prevent rain from entering the bed to the shade the awning provides on a hot day. Very first time using it camping it went together quick. Also stood up very well to a storm only flexing once in some high winds and rain. I just took the awning poles down and used it as kind of a shield for the rain and tied it down to the tailgate supports so we could still use the front vent.
