Will the tent fit over a bed toolbox?
YES! Place the tent over the toolbox to minimize rain entry. If you have a metal toolbox, cover any sharp corners as they may tear the tent fabric.

Will the tent fit over a truck with bedside rails?
YES! If the railings are less than 3″ tall. Taller railings will need to be removed.

Will the tent fit a truck with a bed liner?
YES! The tent will fit with any sprayed or prefabricated liner.

Will the tent fit a hinged slant-slide tonneau cover?
No, the tonneau cover would need to be removed. Fabric covers however, can simply be rolled back.

Can I use my truck tent if my vehicle has a cap?
A Napier SUV Tent would be the better option.

How long will it take to setup the tent?
The first setup will take approximately 15 minutes, and about 10 minutes each time thereafter. While it is possible to setup the tent alone, we suggest having a helper for your first time.

Can one person set up the tent?
One person is able to set up a tent; however we do recommend if at all possible that on the first set up to have assistance.

How can I make sure that my tent is the most water resistant it can be?
Backroadz tents do have a water resistant coating on them.  The coating may wear down over time therefore you may want to spray a water repellent coating on to the tent and rain fly after a few years of use.  We recommend using McNett Thunder Shield silicon water repellent.

Do I need to use a seam sealer on my Backroadz Truck Tent?
Yes, while the Backroadz tents’ rainflies are seam sealed, the tent seams themselves are not seam sealed.  We highly recommend you seam seal the seams before using the tent as water may penetrate the needle holes in the fabric.  Water coming through the needle holes along the seams is common with tents and is not a manufacturer’s defect.

My pole broke? How do I get a new one?
Please refer to the Warranty section on the website.

Is there a warranty?
There is a one-year manufacturer defect warranty.  Please consult the Warranty section on the website.

At 6.5”, this full-size truck bed tent has some exceptional and exclusive features to keep you comfortable in your pick-up truck, day or night. The special sewn-in floor keeps you separate from the metal of your cold truck bed. You can easily store this lightweight tent behind the seat in your cab to keep you well prepared whenever you venture out in your pick-up truck.

I love my new Backroadz tent. It’s very easy to set up. The floor, the fit, the color, and the over all construction are very well worth it’s price. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

OMG this truck tent is the best. We use it all of the time. One of the poles broke but Wayfair was so great and replaced the pole. No questions asked. Great customer service.

I’ll start by saying my wife loved it. I could end it right there for most of you! If she’s pleased then we are all happy. I purchased the 8′ version and fitted it to an F350 with a long bed. Fitment was great. I put it up by myself and the wife helped with the rain fly. Easy-peasy!

We stayed two nights in it with a air mattress. Camp was about a 1/4 mile from the boat ramp and I just left the tent on when we unloaded and loaded the boat. The speed limit was 10 mph. I accidentally dragged a tree branch that was hanging low. It was an oak tree and when we heard the branch crack I looked at the wife and said “uh oh!” We got out and the tent was unphased. Not a scratch.

I may make a sign next time we go. I made more friends because of the tent. People stopped and pointed, looked it all over and asked where I got it. When we would come back in from the lake there would be people standing around the truck pointing and nodding. Everyone seemed to be impressed.

We used a big ice chest as a step to making getting in and out easier.

I purposely waited until we had a chance to use the tent before writing this review. We used this tent in an F150 with a BestTop roll up style bed cover. From the earlier reviews we did a practice run putting the tent up before going on our trip. The first time was slightly cumbersome, but not bad. Once we had it, it was easy the next several times we put it up and down. Quality was good and nothing broke or malfunctioned until the very last day. The string which held the green pole together broke the final time we disassembled the tent for the ride home. I’m going to try to get a replacement and will update this with the results. I’ll I felt as if the bed of the truck was adequately protected.

The experience of using the tent was great. We camped in Colorado with weather down to 40F and up to 85F. It rained multiple times during our trip. The tent never leaked. It did have condensate, but it did not leak. The tent has a net at the top. We used this to hold our iPad and watch movies at night which was fun. The interesting part of our trip was we had to use our truck every day during the trip. I built a platform for a bed in the truck which had to be removed before removing the tent. We didn’t want to disassemble the entire setup each day so I simply removed the poles, unhooked the straps and folded the tent into the back of the truck then rolled the bed cover over it all. This worked great. It also allowed me to take down and put up the tent several times in this one trip. I became pretty quick at putting it up. With help it could pop right up in 10 minutes. All of the clips and straps held strong through all of this up and down with the tent. As mentioned before, the only issue with any hardware was the string on the green pole.

Even with that one issue I think this tent is of very good quality and worthy of a high ranking. It handled the weather nicely, was simple to set up and take down and had as much room as one could possibly expect in a tent for a short bed truck. I’m happy with the purchase.

Got this for my boyfriends birthday and he loved it. I just need to say make sure you check the bed size because there’s maybe 5 different sizes. Putting it together the first times was a tad difficult, but after the first time it’s a breeze. Only bad thing is that the tent goes over the end of the tailgate, so there’s nowhere to stand while outside of it. We just purchased a step stool to help with that, so it’s not an issue.

As a guy on the go and never totally sure where I am going to end up, I recently added a Vehicle Camping Tent to the items that stay in the back seat of my truck like; a small backpack with a change of clothes and toiletries, a blanket, a tool bag and a first aid kit. It’s perfect for any unexpected adventures such as: outdoors events, tailgating, fishing, or even lounging on the beach. Be ready for the unexpected I always say!

During the day the awning provides reprieve from the sun, and whether you setup two chairs underneath or sit on the tailgate, it makes for a good place to spend time. The poles for the awning are also hefty enough that we used them to hang wet towels to dry. A tip ingress and egress: bring a step stool that can sit at the foot of the tailgate to help you climb in and out of the tent. Having just a single step makes climbing into the tent much easier and can help save your knees.

I’m not super into the idea of camping on the ground. Sometimes it’s hard to find a flat spot, or it’s muddy or rocky. But with my truck bed tent, wherever I can park, I can camp. That makes it much easier to get a good spot, and I don’t have to worry if it’s muddy.

I used this tent for the first time this past weekend while camping for a rafting trip down the Upper Gauley in WV. Setup takes about 20 minutes alone, could be a little faster if you have an extra set of hands. I did a test run at the house before heading our for the weekend as shown in the photo. Throw an air mattress in the bed of the truck and you are sleeping like a king! I’ll be using this tent as often as I can get outdoors!

We purchased the Backroadz Truck Tent Model 13 last year to take on quick summer lake trips and it works great! But, we put it to the ultimate test several weeks ago. We were at a small town cook off/festival and the house the group rented was full so we brought our tent to stay in. We knew a cold front was coming, but didn’t expect the thunderstorms that came ahead of the front (thanks to the unpredictable Texas Panhandle weather). This tent withstood 60+ mph winds, up to marble sized hail, and torrential rainfall from not one storm, but from two storms, within hours of each other, back to back, with NO leaks! Then, it kept us warm when the cold front finally hit early the next morning. We inspected the tent that morning and there was no damage whatsoever. So thanks to Napier Outdoors for making a great tent that kept us dry and warm and that can withstand the Texas Panhandle winds!

Exactly what I needed. I like that the floor of the tent lines the Bed liner so you aren’t sleeping in a bed that may be dirty from hauling things in it. Probably the best truck tent you can buy.

Fit perfect, very easy set-up and works great. This is a very cool and fitting tent for my small family (wife and 2yr old). It has lots of room and fit the truck mattress I got perfectly. Very happy with this purchase.

I bought this tent for the many camping trips and music festivals I go to. I drive a 2016 Chevy Colorado and my first time using this tent was at the Okeechobee Music Festival and I had an amazing experience using this tent. Camping off the ground is extremely nice and the tent held together well even in rough winds. Everyone thought it was a really cool tent and I received a lot of compliments on the tent. I can’t wait to use it again!

I had one of these tents 3 years ago. Finally got a truck again and this was the first accessory I purchased immediately. So easy to put together. I am a momma of two elementary aged girls and I can put it up and take down by myself in no time at all. Makes camping safer and more securing being in the truck and off the ground. Love it.

This was my first truck tent and Im so glad I purchased this tent. Very strong and sturdy. Great head room as well. Lots of room inside. I purchased the short bed tent but with the tailgate down there is plenty of room and I’m 6′. Great product !!
